It all started with a blind promise - now Preston Wilson faces a dilemma that will ultimately destroy him or define him.
In The Collectibles, Book One of the Collectibles trilogy, James J. Kaufman delivers the gripping and unforgettable story of Joe Hart and Preston Wilson, two strong men from different worlds - one touched by tragedy, the other by greed - brought together by a promise that changes six lives forever.
In The Concealers, Book Two of the trilogy, Kaufman's listeners meet Katherine Kelly, a budding journalist driven to find the truth. As she investigates bank fraud in Long Island, she discovers the identity of her father, only to learn that he is being drawn into her investigation. Too soon, she learns the agony and price of the truth she seeks.
In The Conciliators, the conclusion of the Collectibles trilogy, Preston Wilson's life is once again imploding - this time as headline news, bylined by Katherine Kelly. Under fire thanks to the financial shenanigans of a longtime friend, the CEO finds himself in trouble with the FBI, the Russian Mafia, and his creditors. If he doesn't come up with a plan (and quickly), he could lose everything and find himself, his wife, and his shareholders in prison.
Inspired by Joe Hart's life lessons, Preston sets a new course, vowing to fight for what matters most his family, his friends, and the Collectibles.

I’ve been a fan of Kaufman’s brilliant writing, hooked forever on book one, The Collectibles. While a legal thriller with great characters, it also made me think hard and long about adjusting some of my own relationships. Then along came his second book, The Concealers, equally fast paced, impossible to put down, and true to the trilogy in every way. It also added Katherine, a fascinating character. The novel continued my soul searching.
Now, after thoroughly enjoying The Conciliators, book three of the trilogy, I must add that as great as the first two are, and they are great, this one propelled me to another, higher level. The writing is tight and compelling, and the humor lightens the sometimes dark incidents. The currently relevant plot is full of surprises, and the scenes and characters are so real, that I felt as if I were in the room, a participant of their conversations, living in the moment. When I finished, I knew I had read an exceptional, fantastically moving novel – one I would never forget. I find myself still reliving the book, my mind deep within the characters. This is a thinking man or woman’s novel, and so much more. It takes you on an unforgettable journey, not only with the exciting and penetrating characters, but one within yourself as well. Don’t miss this one!
It got inside me.
By the way, have a handkerchief handy.

The Conciliators The Collectibles Trilogy Book 3 (Audible Audio Edition) James J Kaufman Joe Barrett Inc Blackstone Audio Books Reviews
I read the Collectors and fell in love with Joe Hart, I was heartbroken when he passed. I tend to lose myself in a book that I really like. I was beside myself when the 2nd of the series came out so you know I was ecstatic when the 3rd came out. I hope there are more to come
I guess I'd have to say I'm glad the 3 book series has come to an end (or at least I hope it has). After getting off to such a fantastic start in Book 1, I just felt like each successive book in the series let me down more and more. Frankly, if I were giving advice to someone, I'd say, "Go One, and then Be Done."
These are my favorite books of all my reading years. It is a great story, heartfelt and the characters are wonderful. I highly recommend this trilogy for a great read. I hope this author writes more books in this triology.
The day after I finished the second book in this trilogy, The Concealers, my copy of the Conciliators arrived. I couldn't wait to continue my journey with Preston, Marcia, Katherine and the Collectables. The story lines just kept getting better as I was introduced to new personalities, additional insights into our current characters and amazing story lines. Mr. Kaufman has a wonderful talent for introducing family, relationships, intrigue, romance and suspense, all the while keeping this reader glued to the story. While I would encourage anyone to read the entire trilogy, The Conciliators stands on it's own as the author brings you right into the story. My thanks to Mr. Kaufman for allowing me to get to know his interesting cast of characters. I'll miss them all.
I don't typically read novels but I had a hard time putting down the Conciliators by James J Kaufman. The twists and turns of the storyline kept me reading into the wee hours of night. In real life James J Kaufman was my lawyer and one of my early business mentors. He was as interesting an individual then as the characters are in his 3rd novel The Conciliators. You can read all three books in the Trilogy or just one and come away with one or more of the most important of life's lessons. Who are your real friends? Who can you really count on when the going gets tough? Bravo James J for your work.
After enjoying the first two books in James Kaufman’s trilogy “The Collectibles” I could not wait to read the third and final one, “The Conciliators”. I was always eager to see what was around the next corner and I was never disappointed. This series of novels kept my attention by touching all of my emotions yet ends on a very positive note. It is filled with unique characters, all tied together by one Joe Hart. Joe was the common thread that touched the hearts of everyone whose path he crossed. He helped all of these people in many ways, but perhaps most importantly he showed them how to live life to the fullest, even after his own ended.
James Kaufman is a writer’s writer. The smooth flow of his words and the story are masterful. The moral message is profound. Just like the first two books in this series, once I started reading, I could not put it down. I cannot wait to see what Kaufman’s next project entails.
I read the first two books of The Collectible series and I enjoyed meeting the characters, Preston and Marcia Wilson, Casey Fitzgerald, and especially Joe Hart. As the story continues in the second book, I came to admire Katherine Kelly, Preston's daughter and her quest to make a positive impact in the field of Journalism. While investigating a story, she comes upon news that involves her father, who is "unindicted co-conspriator". At first you immediately go, what is that? But then you stick with the story and it shares with you what it means. Author Jim Kaufman is a great writer, imbuing a sense of warmth and heart into his characters. The story takes place mostly in New York where Preston lives and runs a large automobile empire. It is ironic that the recent explosion in Mid Town Manhattan became reality in Jim's books. He had the story written before the actual explosion occurred but it is eerie how similar both explosions (the one in The Conciliators and the real life one) are and what happened to the people around them. If you have not read the first two books in The Collectibles series, this book stands on its own. Although you would enjoy the first two books to learn the backstory on Joe Hart who was an inspiring character and affected everyone in the series.
